The Interfraternity Council generates revenues in excess of $60,000 per year through the collection of membership dues, chapter fines, sponsorship funding and donations. Membership dues account for the vast majority of this funding. Each semester, chapters compensate the IFC a designated amount per active member in their chapter for IFC dues. Traditionally, chapter dues to the IFC at the University of Illinois have been far below those of their Big Ten counterparts and will likely continue in this trend. Spring 2008 Interfraternity Council dues were $12.00 per active member. So where does all of this money go?

All of the funding received by the IFC goes right back toward the benefit of its members. The council allocated funds each semester for speakers and programming, leadership development, and a number of community philanthropy initiatives. The following are some of the major expenses that the Interfraternity Council encounters each year:
- Fall and Spring Recruitment
- Homecoming
- Speakers and Large-Group Programming
- Annual Allerton Retreat
- Association of Fraternal Leadership & Values (AFLV) Conference in St. Louis
- North-American Interfraternity Council
- (NIC)Conference
- Emerging Leaders Program
- Undergraduate Inter Fraternity Institute (UIFI)
- Greek Oscars
