Inside IFC

  • Overview

The Interfraternity Council of the University of Illinois (commonly known as the IFC) is the student organization responsible for governing the world's largest collegiate Greek system.  The IFC presides over 45 fraternity chapters and more than 3,100 Greek men on campus in an effort to promote the common ideals of brotherhood, scholarship, and service. These IFC-sanctioned chapters are viewed as such due to their membership in the North-American Interfraternity Conference. Chapter size currently ranges anywhere from 10 members to approximately 180 members.  IFC chapters adhere to the rules outlined by the Interfraternity Council Constitution and By-Laws.  The IFC consists of two principal bodies:

    Executive Board
consists of the President of the Interfraternity Council and seven vice presidents

    Presidents Council
comprised of the 45 chapter presidents

The IFC Executive Board meets on a weekly basis to fulfill the needs of the council. Presidents Council meetings are held once every two weeks and are generally held on Wednesday evenings.
